Buyer Truths | Week 10

One of the first questions buyers ask after closing is simple; “Who do I call for everything now?”

When you move into a new home, you’ll need trusted vendors fast. Think plumbers, electricians, landscapers, pest control, house cleaners, and handymen. Most people start with Google, but that is not always the best way.

Start with your real estate agent and your new neighbors. They usually know which vendors show up on time, do good work, and charge fair prices.

But here’s one more secret way to find great vendors that most people do not think about.

Look at the service trucks pulling into your local stores like Home Depot. It means they’re usually working on homes in the area.

The truth is this; having a good vendor list can make your first year in a new home much easier.

A good agent doesn’t just help you buy the house; they also help you settle into it.

Thinking about buying soon? Start building your vendor list before move-in day.

And now you know how new homeowners find reliable plumbers, electricians, landscapers, and vendors after moving into a new home.

You thought getting through the toddler years was tough.

Then came adult proofing.

They’re smart. They remember everything from 1969, but forget they shouldn’t go outside alone.

And somehow… you still can’t tell them a thing.

Most Generation X caregivers don’t talk about this stage. The quiet upgrades. The small fixes. The decisions you never expected to make.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s are sneaky little thieves who slowly rob you of the peace you once felt.

And the truth is; what you do next matters more than you think.

Because the right changes can help your parents stay safe, stay independent, and stay in the home they love longer.

This is the part of life nobody prepares you for. But you’re not alone in it.

If you’ve started noticing what needs to change in your parents’ home, you’re already doing the right thing.

Comment READY and I’ll share the simple upgrades every Gen X caregiver tackling dementia or Alzheimer’s should know.
